The Place

This week marks the beginning of my Fort Thomas Brunch category. It may never have even occurred to you to venture to this part of town, but there are a variety of independent-owned eateries with charm to try out. With this being said, the first spot up for review is The Green Line Kitchen & Cocktails

Location & Parking

The Green Line Kitchen & Cocktails is located on N Ft. Thomas Ave. It is nestled in between some of the areas local businesses and residences. There is a lot for patrons behind the restaurant and off street parking as well. Reservations can be made via Open Table.

Atmosphere

This place has such a good vibe for a Sunday morning. If you are looking for a more upscale brunch experience, this is the place. The decor is casual and contemporary with some rustic-style touches. It reminds me of a place you would visit in Charleston, South Carolina. Seating consists of booth, table/chair, ample bar, and outdoor. I was super excited to see they have a whole section of their menu which is dedicated to Champagne Cocktails. My friend ordered the traditional Mimosa. I went with the Breakfast at Tiffany's which consisted of Blue Curacao, Sprite, and Champagne. It was nothing short of amazing!

Hangover Cure

I decided to go with the Hangover Cure for my brunch plate. This dish was comprised of a biscuit, layered with fried chicken, gravy, and finished with an egg(I chose over easy). Biscuit was nice and fluffy, not to dense, chicken was seasoned well and tender on the inside, gravy had great flavor, and egg was cooked perfectly.

Biscuits & Gravy

My friend ordered the Biscuits & Gravy. She enjoyed the combination of the crunchy bottom layer of the biscuit mixed with the fluffy top layer and of course the warm gravy which pulled the entire dish together. She also ordered it with an over-easy egg on top. You will notice I only have a pic of the Hangover Cure, because both dishes looked identical when brought out to the table.

Overall Experience

The overall experience at The Green Line Kitchen & Cocktails was wonderful from beginning to end. Atmosphere was lovely, the host was pleasant, server was attentive and efficient, original options for AM cocktails, and our "Mains" were spectacular.
