My typical brunch planning routine starts with a date and time with a friend or family member. Usually my goal is to find somewhere new to try or to revisit a spot I enjoyed on a previous outing. When trying to find a new spot, I enter a Google search of “best brunch restaurants in Cincinnati." I try to do this three to five days in advance of our brunch date. I visit the website to preview the menu and try to get a general feeling of the location. Looking through the reviews is also a good idea. Once I evaluate the menu and whether I think it will be a fit for my guest, I check to see if a reservation is permissible. Popular brunch locations have a very small window of time when they are not busy, making it less dependable to rely on “walking in” and not waiting for an hour or two! Always take advantage of the option to make a reservation if it is available even if you plan on getting there right when the restaurant opens. This will eliminate the frustration of long waits and the dreaded awkward first come first serve bar seating option. One of the most convenient ways to make a reservation is through Open Table. You will usually find a link within the website summary and/or within the actual website. Once you make the reservation it will text/email the confirmation directly to you. I always take a screenshot of the reservation confirmation and forward it via text to the person that will be joining me for brunch. From here you are all set, giving you something to look forward to on Saturday or Sunday morning!
