The Place
Alright the time has come for OTR brunch. I tried to avoid doing an OTR specific category when I first started this blog because I felt like it would have been uh let's just say predictable. With that being said, of course OTR is an amazing hub for trendy restaurants and up and coming chefs in the Queen City! Going to OTR is always exciting because it is constantly evolving and it is fun to see what new independent shops and restaurants are popping up. First one up for review is the Sacred Beast Diner. One thing I already know this place has going for it, is all day breakfast on their menu!
Location
Sacred Beast Diner is located on the corner of Vine and W. 15th Street towards Liberty. Parking on Vine consists of meter, lot and garage it really just depends on how far you want to walk. A walk down Vine is typically pretty pleasant. I have to be honest, this morning I was not particularly motivated to find the best parking option, therefore I paid $6.50 for convenience and parked in the spacious lot across the street from the restaurant. Had I not been so laissez faire, I could have found a better deal at 10AM on Sunday morning. I would recommend making a reservation on Open Table in less you get there right when the restaurant opens.
Atmosphere
Let's just say this place puts an upscale spin on the word "diner" and if you read the posts within my Diner Dash category this place is on a whole other level from the moment you walk in the door. If Metropole and The Echo were married and had a baby it would have given birth to this place. The décor and finishes within this restaurant are well designed and make you feel like you are dining somewhere special. There are beautiful concrete floors with large tufted leather booths, table seating (tables made from gorgeous wood btw), plentiful bar seating, and outdoor seating (patio and picnic table seating on W. 15th). My plan was to enjoy breakfast by myself this morning so I opted for the outdoor patio seating to enjoy the weather and some quality Vine Street people watching. The host was friendly.
I appreciated that I was asked where I would like to sit instead of automatically being sat at the bar since I was by myself. Waitress was friendly and outgoing. I was looking for a perfect morning cocktail for a warm and sunny day. I decided to go with The Pain Killer. This drink was formulated with Captain Morgan Rum, Coco Lopez, pineapple, lime, and orange juice. This was delicious, creamy, garnished with great spices, and it took me right to the tropics. This is currently in the front running for one of the best brunch cocktails I have sampled so far!

Diner Breakfast
This morning, I came prepared with my appetite and was looking for a menu item that had a little bit of everything. I chose the Diner Breakfast. This glorious plate consists of lemon ricotta pancakes, scrambled eggs, and pork belly. I was not in the mood for eggs that morning so I asked for no eggs and ordered the Hashbrowns & Kimchi Ketchup on the side.
This meal delivered! The lemon ricotta pancakes creamy and melted in your mouth with every bite. The lemon flavor was perfect and not overpowering. If you have never had pork belly before it is essentially an elevated higher end version of bacon which could be an understatement. Be prepared for a fattier cut of meat that is sinfully decadent. The best part was simultaneously taking bites of pork belly and lemon ricotta pancake with a drizzle of maple syrup...was I having breakfast or dessert? Embracing the savory and sweet breakfast combo never gets old. Hashbrowns were a nice surprise. I was expecting a side of shredded potatoes but instead I received a side of these deep-fried crispy hashbrown bites, this was a good thing! If you haven't picked up on this yet, I love a good potato with brunch!
Overall Experience
The overall experience was phenomenal, from entrance to exit everything was on point and had a fulfilling brunch that was extremely flavorful. This place is a little pricier than some of the other places I have reviewed, however this is reflected in the quality of the food and atmosphere. You can expect to spend 20 to 30 dollars here.
