The Place
I am back in Covington kicking off my "Cov Brunch" category. If you are a loyal follower of the blog than you may remember my Main Strasse category from this past summer. I promise I am reviewing all new gems located at various locations throughout Covington. My first place of interest is Honey Unhibited which is located in the former restaurant space of Behle Street Cafe.
Location & Parking
Honey Uninhibited is located on River Center Blvd across the street from the Marriott and directly underneath the Embassy Suites. With this being said, reservations are a must because you will be competing with hangry, awakening, and/or departing hotel guests who will be flooding the restaurant shortly after opening. One major plus is the spacious lot located directly across the street that is free to dining patrons as long as you stay for under two hours. When you arrive to the restaurant the wait staff will provide you with a ticket to scan to override your payment at the lot pay station.
Atmosphere
My friend and I were seated at a table over in the bar area. There was another dining room located across the hall. This atmosphere is casual, urban, and upbeat. There was great throwback R&B and rap playing throughout the restaurant which was fun. The decor is clean and modern with cute honey comb accents on the walls and entry way. Lots of windows and daylight as well because no one likes eating in a dungeon. Our server was very friendly and provided us with positive affirmations of our orders. They have a QR code on each table you can scan for the menu. I know mimosas are kind of predictable, but my friend and I could not resist ordering the OJ Did It! This was a well balanced (this means good OJ to bubbles ration) mimosa, served in a fun glass, with a dainty orange slice garnish. This was a perfect compliment to an already perfect Sunday morning.
Order-Up
Sweet Chick
I was bound and determined to order the Red Velvet Pancakes when I walked in the door. However another menu caught my eye and that was the Sweet Chick. You know I love a good sweet/savory combo! This dish consisted of Carolina-style fried chicken-thigh which was served on top cinnamon French toast. The chicken was topped with berries and honey. This dish can be ordered as a full or half order. My friend and I each ordered a full and ate it all with no regrets. Chicken was seasoned and tender. The toast had a nice caramelized cinnamon coating and the berries and honey tied it all together.
Overall Experience
The overall experience at Honey Uninhibited was wonderful. This is an easy place to make a reservation and parking is convenient. Staff was pleasant, good at making suggestions, and appeared to enjoy their jobs. Food and drink was delicious. I would expect to spend 25 to 30 dollars here.
Rating: 4⭐
Honey Uninhibited receives a star in each category: Atmosphere, Service, AM Cocktail, and Plate. Would definitely come back again. You get a fulfilling and true brunch experience here from start to finish. I will definitely be back to get my Red Velvet Pancakes fix!
