The Place

The second stop in my City Brunch category is Court Street Kitchen. This was a new discovery for me during my downtown brunch Google search and I was more than eager to try. The name of the restaurant is very basic but this spot is anything but.

Location & Parking

Court Street Kitchen is located on...you guessed it, Court Street. There is meter parking located all up and down Court Street so take advantage of free Sunday parking until late afternoon. This spot does not open until 11AM, I would definitely make reservations. By 11AM a lot of people are out and about and the inside of the restaurant does not have a ton of seating.

Atmosphere

This place is chic. The dining room is decorated elegantly with gray leather chairs/barstools, wood tables, modern fixtures, and greenery. Seating includes table/chair, booth/chair, and they do have an outdoor patio with French-style bistro seating. This may be a deal breaker for some, but I must admit I was loving what I am about to reveal They have a DJ stationed at the end of the bar. I personally thought it fit the locale and put a very fun spin on a traditional brunch experience. The hostess was friendly and accommodating and our waiter was nice as well. For AM cocktails, I had the Champagne Coolie which was comprised of Creme de Frambois, raspberry, lemon, and simple syrup. My stepmom had a classic Moscow Mule. The Champagne Coolie was very refreshing, the ingredients went well with one another, and it was a nice alternative to a traditional mimosa. My stepmom's Moscow Mule was on point as well and you will see from the pics below that both drinks were garnished beautifully.

Order Up

Lemon Ricotta Pancake

I mean, I can't resist a lemon ricotta anything let alone a pancake! Pancakes were wonderful. You could taste the lemon flavor through and through without it being overpowering. This dish came with a side of fruit. I am usually pretty disappointed with "sides of fruit" when I dine out. However, the portion of fruit was generous, it came out in a pretty dessert dish, and was topped with delicious fresh cream. As if this was not enough I ordered a side of bacon to go with it. Bacon was crisp, flavorful and not overcooked. I ate every last bit of everything!

Country Side Breakfast

For those looking for a little variety say no more than the Country Side Breakfast. This consisted of scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, tomatoes, and grilled sour dough. My stepmom noted the grilled sour dough as being her favorite part of the meal and commented on how well the tomato complimented everything on her plate. I snagged a bite of potato and they had a great grilled flavor to them. The dish also came with an adorable jar of homemade jelly.

Overall Experience

The overall experience at Court Street Kitchen was stellar! I loved the classy urban spin this place put on brunch. Everything was great from entry to exit.

Rating: 4

Court Street Kitchen receives 4 stars! One for each of the following categories: Atmosphere, Service, AM Cocktail, and Plate. The atmosphere was definitely my favorite part of this dining experience. I imagine that this will be one of the premiere locations to grab brunch downtown Cincy, if it already isn't!
