The Place

We have arrived at my last stop for Brunch & the Boutique and this journey ends at the Hotel Covington. Coppin's Restaurant & Bar is located in the lobby of The Hotel Covington and is a great place for an excellent brunch or a romantic dinner. I have been here several times and it has been overwhelmingly consistent.

Parking

Lots of parking options. The Hotel Covington is located on 368 Madison Pike. There is a garage located on the side entrance of the hotel with rates varying upon length of stay on East 7th St., plenty of meter parking, and an ABM parking lot on West 7th St. I opted for the free Sunday meter parking on Madison a block away from the hotel.

Atmosphere

Coppin's offers seating within the hotel lobby and the main dining area is a gorgeous solarium-style lounge with high ceilings. Courtyard outdoor patio seating is also available during warmer temperatures. The overall vibe of this restaurant is stylish and chic. Would love to stay in this hotel. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable about the menu, and will often offer their personal recommended favs if you need a tie breaker between two menu items. My stepmom got the Coppin's Mimosa with pineapple juice instead of the traditional orange and I decided to take it up a notch by ordering the Espresso Martini. This martini is comprised of vodka, Buffalo Trace bourbon cream, Yield nitro cold brew, and demerara sugar. This drink was a visual masterpiece. I typically veer away from morning cocktails mixed with any type of a coffee component. This is due to my routine two cups of coffee I have before leaving the house most Saturdays and Sundays. It definitely pays to venture outside of your comfort zone when it comes to menu items, because this was the best morning cocktail I have ever had! This drink was a work of art and the taste was cool, sweet (not overly sweet), and smooth.

Order-Up

Tots

For an appetizer we ordered the Tots which were delicious. They are magnificent layered potato bites with a parmesan crust and a side of chili garlic mayo. As far as I am concerned this could have been my entire brunch!

Porkopolis Omelette

This omelet was stuffed with goetta, smoked ham, and gruyere. This menu item encompassed all the spectacular elements of breakfast in one. Ingredients were cooked perfectly and I opted for the side of fruit.

The Breakfast Sandwich

A basic name for a not so basic sandwich. Our server mentioned that this was his favorite menu item. This sandwich consisted of smoked bacon, over-hard egg, pepper jack cheese and a maple dijonnaise served on an English muffin. This dish was ordered with a side of beef

fat potatoes. This dish was another win, all components of this sandwich were well prepared. The potatoes were nice and crisp without being dry and the beef fat added great flavor.

Overall Experience

I would describe the overall experience at Coppin's as relaxed and lovely. You never feel rushed by the servers, cocktails were more than on point, great appetizer, and main dishes. I am not going to lie, I was so full from eating most of the Tots, I had to take half of the omelet home with me. Menu items range from six to twenty dollars. Expect to spend twenty to thirty for the full a brunch experience.

Recommend Yes or No?

YES! If you have not already guessed it by this point in the post. What can I say except there is nothing bad to say. I think I even give this place extra praise due to the Espresso Martini and Tots! Never had a bad meal or experience here.
